Do’s:

  1. Before starting your project, make sure you are aware of all the steps, guidelines and timelines.
  2. Create a well-organized plan in accordance with the guidelines for your design, experiment, innovation, etc.
  3. Attend group webinars and mentoring sessions organised as per the schedule.
  4. Be well prepared for the final presentation.
  5. Keep your parents informed about your participation. Seek consent before you submit.

Don’ts

  1. Only One entry per student allowed. Multiple submissions from the same person will result in automatic disqualification.
  2. Students must solely create their projects without acquiring or utilising work made by others. Any plagiarism will result in automatic disqualification.
  3. Avoid purchased or externally made projects. Such submissions will be disqualified.

Essential Guidelines

Stage 2: Video of Working Model and Contents for a Project Display Board Submission (10th January 2024 – 24th January 2024)

  1. This stage is applicable to the Top 200 shortlisted participants only.
  2. All 200 shortlisted students will receive a certificate and goodies at this stage. The schools of the shortlisted students will also be recognised and acknowledged.
  3. To proceed further, the student will need to record and upload a video of the working model explaining its functioning in detail - Click here to see a reference video from last year
  4. In addition, Students will need to submit contents required for a Project Display Board, Details of the School and Details of the other Participants in case of group submission
  5. Students will have access to proper guidance and mentorship. Active participation is expected from the students during Mentoring Sessions & Workshops.
  6. Top 25 ideas will be shortlisted on the basis of video and content submission. These top 25 ideas will be considered by iHUB DivyaSampark- IIT Roorkee for research study/incubation/start-up.
  7. Top 10 National Finalists (individual/group projects) will be shortlisted from the Top 25 ideas for the Grand Finale.

Stage 3: Grand Finale (10th February 2024)

  1. This stage is applicable to the Top 10 National Finalists(individual/group projects).
  2. Each student (individual/group) will be required to share a bonafide certificate from their respective schools.
  3. Each student will be required to share the complete contact details of themselves, parents /guardian, teacher and principal along with the parental approval for communication purposes.
  4. The Top 10 National Finalists(individual/group projects). will be mandated to attend the Grand Finale event in New Delhi during the second week of February 2024. The exact dates will be communicated with the finalists at the earliest.
  5. During the Finale, the students will be required to present their project prototypes along with the Project Display Board to the Grand Jury. The print and enlarged version of the Project Display Board will be arranged by Team vivo Ignite. However, the student needs to carry the prototype from their home location to the venue (No extra freight charges to be paid by Team vivo Ignite).
  6. Travel and Stay Arrangements will be provided by Team vivo Ignite in the following manner:
    • a. Every student to be accompanied by either a parent / guardian/ teacher
    • b. To and Fro Air travel will be provided by Team vivo Ignite. In case of absence of airport in the home location, the student will be required to reach the nearest airport and upload details accordingly. The expenses of reaching the nearest airport to be borne by the student.
    • c. In case of teacher/guardian accompanying student: female student to be accompanied by a female teacher/guardian, male student to be accompanied by a male teacher/guardian.
    • d. In case of teacher/guardian accompanying student: there has to be a consent letter from the parent allowing the student with teacher/guardian
    • e. In case of parent either parent allowed with student
    • f. Every student will be provided with a different room (individual/group)

Stage 1 : Idea Submission

This stage will be active till 3rd January, 2024

The result will be declared on 10th January, 2024

  • Participants will submit a poster and a brief write-up (150–300 words) about their projects. They will also select whether their final submission will be in the form of an individual entry or a group entry.
  • A group can have minimum 2 members and maximum 3 members
  • The participants’ submissions will be judged along two parameters:
    1. The extent to which they have incorporated technology and innovation in their projects
    2. The potential of their projects to create social impact on the community and society at large
  • The top 200 participants (50 from each zone – North, East, West, South) will qualify for the Prototype Submission stage.
  • Each individual/group will need to upload a poster in PDF/JPEG/PNG version (file size up to 5 MB), along with a 150 to 300-word description of their project.

Stage 2: Prototype Submission

This stage will be active from 10th January 2024 to 24th January 2024.

The result will be declared on 1st February 2024

  • Participants will submit a Project Display Board
  • Participants will submit videos to further explain their projects.
  • Participants will explain what motivated them to create their project, where they drew inspiration from and what they hope to achieve. Participants will showcase the different parts of their working model, and demonstrate how these parts function together to solve a social cause or issue.
  • The submissions will be judged by an esteemed jury. They will evaluate the projects basis two criteria:
    1. The scientific and technical knowledge/input used in the project
    2. The social impact and relevance of the project
  • Top 25 ideas will be shortlisted on the basis of video submission. These top 25 ideas will be considered by iHUB DivyaSampark- IIT Roorkee for research study/incubation/start-up.
  • Top 10 national finalists (individual/group projects) will be shortlisted from the Top 25 ideas for the Grand Finale.
  • Video of Working Model and Project Display Board Submission
  • The student will need to record and upload a video (MP4 version up to 50 MB) of the working model explaining its functioning in detail.
  • In addition, students will need to upload an image of the Project Display Board in PDF/JPEG/PNG version (file size up to 5 MB), which will have the summary of the project (A sample is attached herewith - add images).

Stage 3 : Grand Finale

The Grand Finale will be held from 6th -9th February 2024.

  • Top 10 national finalists will be invited to display and present their projects to a panel of judges in a physical event.
  • Top 5 participants out of 10 shortlisted, who create the most technically innovative and socially relevant projects, will be declared national winners.
  • Travel and Stay Arrangements:
  • Individual Entry: Travel and stay arrangements for the participant and only 1 parent/guardian/teacher will be made by Team vivo Ignite.
  • Group Entry: Travel and stay arrangements for all the group participants and only 1 parent/guardian/teacher will be made by Team vivo Ignite

vivo Ignite Terms and Conditions

  1. These Terms and Conditions (“T&C”), as amended from time to time, are the complete and exclusive statements of understanding between vivo India Mobile Pvt. Ltd. (vivo) & the Participant/Users (through Parent/Legal Guardian/School) who shall enroll, to participate in the vivo Ignite (hereinafter referred to as “vivo Ignite”). It supersedes all other prior understanding, whether oral or written. All representation or other communications between vivo & the Participant amounts to acceptance of these terms and conditions.
  1. vivo is organising a Competition(“Program”) for the students of Grades 8 to 12. The User/Participants may enroll directly through the website www.vivoignite.com. The participants need to be accompanied by their Parents/Legal Guardian.
  1. Age of the Participant: A Participant must be within 18 years of age in order to be eligible for competing in the vivo Ignite. vivo reserves the right to disqualify Participants for any misrepresentation, concealment, or otherwise.
  1. vivo shall provide an online platform for enrolling into the vivo Ignite to the Users/Participants. All registration shall be in accordance with the terms and conditions herein, as may be amended from time to time and/or any other communication as shared by vivo from time to time.
  1. By enrolling in the vivo Ignite and/or participating in the vivo Ignite, a Participant unconditionally and irrevocably accepts and agrees to be bound by all these terms and conditions as stated herein. This vivo Ignite is subject to the laws of India and is neither offered, or applicable outside of India.
  1. vivo shall not be responsible for any Participant enrolling and/or entering the vivo Ignite unlawfully or otherwise, in breach of any applicable laws and any such consequence shall be the sole responsibility of the participants and/or their Parents/Legal guardians.
  1. vivo reserves the right, in its sole and absolute discretion, to terminate or disqualify any Participant’s enrolment/participation into the vivo Ignite and/or claim/reclaim the prize at any time if it is the opinion of vivo that there has been a breach of any of the Terms or any law by such Participant (whether discovered during or after the end of the PROGRAM).
  1. All the contents and material of the vivo Ignite is an Intellectual Property of vivo and the User/Participant or any stakeholder involved in implementation/execution or otherwise shall have no right over the same.
  1. Any commercial use of the content of the vivo Ignite is strictly prohibited and shall be punishable under applicable laws.

  1. The Registration Process is as follows:
  • User shall visit www.vivoignite.com and click the register/login button.
  • User shall create an account either for himself/herself or for the prospective participant.
  • User will sign up with personal details, such as Name, Email ID, Contact Number, School Details or any other details, as may be required.
  • If a parent wishes to register more than one user, the Parent needs to use an alternate email ID for every subsequent user registration.
  • Access to the vivo Ignite through the Account of the Participant shall be granted for a period of 06 months from the date of registration.
  • Participant Dashboard: After registration, the Participants will be taken to their respective dashboards where they can find all the various details regarding their program.

  1. vivo Ignite will unfold in three stages.

Stage 1: Participants will submit their posters and a brief write-up (150–300words) about their projection. They will also select whether their final submission will be in the form of an individual entry or a group (min 2 or max 3 members) entry.

Stage 2: Top 200 shortlisted ideas will submit a video expanding on their prototype. Participants will also upload a PDB (Project Display Board).

Stage 3: The top 10 finalistswill carry their projects to the physical event for display and final selection.

  1. The outcome or the results of the vivo Ignite shall be final, and binding upon the participants and the winners. All such participants undertake not to challenge the same at any point in time.
  1. Details of the prizes to be awarded to the Winners of vivo Ignite:

 

  • All the participants who submit their posters and write-ups will be awarded Online Participation Certificates.
  • All the 200 participants who make it to the Stage 2 will be awarded a  a certificate and exciting goodies.
  • Scholarships worth ₹35 lakh+ will be awarded to the top 5 National winners, and the 5 National finalists will be awarded medals and certificates
  1. vivo reserves the sole right and discretion to amend/replace the prize(s) to the winners and such winners shall not have any objection in this regard.
  1. All participants undertake to commit and comply with all applicable GST, taxes or levies, or any other law for the time being in force on the prizes or gratifications awarded under this program.
  1. Any traveling and/or lodging cost associated with participation in the vivo Ignite Grand Finale shall be solely borne by vivo as per below:

Individual Entry: Travel and stay arrangements for the student and 1 parent/guardian/teacher will be made by Team vivo Ignite. Group Entry: Travel and stay arrangements for the group and only 1 parent/guardian/teacher will be made by Team vivo Ignite

  1. vivo reserves the right to postpone, amend, cancel the vivo Ignite or withdraw or amend any of the terms and conditions of the vivo Ignite as it may deem necessary or fit.
  1. Children vivo employees or any of its Group Companies’ employees may participate in the vivo Ignite. However, if they participate, they won’t be able to claim the prizes under the vivo Ignite.
  1. The prizes for the vivo Ignite will be given to the winner as set out in the Terms and Conditions. The winner must accept his/her prize in that form only. Prizes are non-negotiable, non-transferable, non-refundable and not exchangeable for cash, credit or kind, either in part or in full except at the sole and absolute discretion of vivo.
  1. vivo reserves the right, in its sole and absolute discretion, to deal with any unclaimed prizes in any manner.
  1. vivo shall not be liable in any way for any failure or breach by any party in connection with the vivo Ignite, prize or prizes and accepts no responsibility for any loss suffered by a Participant arising from the vivo Ignite, prize or prizes.
  1. By participating in the vivo Ignite, the Participant allows with its free consent: (a) the usage of their photos, name, quotes, personal details and/or likeness, without any compensation, for vivo promotional and marketing purposes; and (b) to use their answers to the questions, without any compensation, for vivo’s promotional and marketing purposes, either directly or through any third party.
  1. Any attempt by a Participant to deliberately damage or undermine the legitimate operation of the vivo Ignite and tarnish the image of Vivo ignite or Vivo as a brand is a violation of Criminal and Civil Laws and should such an attempt be made, vivo reserves its right to seek damages from any such Participant along with the criminal liability to the fullest extent as permitted by law.
  1. Any content created by any Participant during the vivo Ignite shall be the sole proprietary of vivo. The Participant hereby agrees to assist in the transfer of all/any right that accrues to the Participant due to the creation of the content under the applicable law. Such transfer shall be without any compensation and/or future royalties (if any).
  1. vivo, and/or its subsidiaries, offices and representatives shall not be liable to any person or entity for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, punitive or consequential damages, including loss of profits, incurred by the winner or any third party, whether in connection with this vivo Ignite, or for breach of any warranty or in tort.
  1. The Participant/User agrees to indemnify vivo, its agents, employees, representatives, associates, affiliates, parent and subsidiary companies against any and all claims, losses, costs, damages, liabilities and expenses arising out of the Participant’s breach of any of the T&C or arising out of or in connection with their entries to the Program.
  1. The Participant, by entering the vivo Ignite, expressly releases vivo from any claim, action or demand arising out of or in connection with the vivo Ignite or their prize, if any.
  1. vivo shall not assume any responsibility for incorrect or inaccurate capture of any Participant’s information. This will include but not be limited to technical malfunctions, human or technical errors, seeding or printing errors, lost or delayed or garbled data or transmissions, omissions, interruptions, deletions, defects or failures of any telephone or computer line or network, computer equipment, software or any combination thereof.
  1. The laws of India shall govern these T&Cs. The courts of Delhi will have exclusive jurisdiction in case of any dispute arising under the Terms and Conditions herein.
  1. Any provision of the T&C that is prohibited or unenforceable in any jurisdiction shall be ineffective as to that jurisdiction to the extent of that prohibition or unenforceability. That does not affect the validity or enforceability of that provision in any other jurisdiction nor invalidate the remaining provisions of the T&C.
  1. vivo shall not be responsible for any loss or damage suffered by the Participants while participating in the Program.
  1. Failure by vivo to enforce any of these Terms and Conditions in any instance(s) shall not give rise to any claim by any person.
  1. This vivo Ignite is being created as a Corporate Social Responsibityactivity for vivo and all goodwill, copyright, moral rights or other intellectual property rights associated thereto shall vest exclusively with vivo.
  1. The participation and winning in the vivo Ignite contest issubject to the winner complying with all T&C and/or formalities as required by vivo. Any failure on the part of the Participant to comply with any specified term, condition and/or formality shall render the Participant liable for disqualification at the sole discretion of vivo.
  1. User Communication: Participants hereby explicitly consent to receive communication from  vivo or its representatives by email, telephone, WhatsApp or SMS for the purposes of providing alerts and information about our services irrespective of being under the DND coverage.
  1. User Content: The information, photo, image, chat communication, text, software, data, music, sound, graphics, messages, videos or other materials transmitted, uploaded, posted, emailed or otherwise made available to vivo(“User Content”), are entirely the User’s/Participant’s responsibility and vivo will not be held responsible, in any manner whatsoever, in connection to the User Content. The User/Participant agrees not to encourage or assist or engage others as well as himself/herself in transmitting, hosting, displaying, uploading, modifying, publishing transmitting, updating or sharing any information that belongs to another person and to which the user does not have any right to vivo shall in no way be held responsible for examining or evaluating User Content, nor does it assume any responsibility or liability for the User Content. vivo does not endorse or control the User Content transmitted or posted on the Site by the User and therefore, accuracy, integrity or quality of User Content is not guaranteed by vivo. The User/Participant understands that by using the Site, he/she may be exposed to User Content that is offensive, indecent or objectionable to him/her. Under no circumstances will vivo be liable in any way for any User Content, including without limitation, for any errors or omissions in any User Content, or for any loss or damage of any kind incurred by him/her as a result of the use of any User Content transmitted, uploaded, posted, e-mailed or otherwise made available via the Site. The User hereby waives all rights to any claims against vivo for any alleged or actual infringements of any proprietary rights, rights of privacy and publicity, moral rights, and rights of attribution in connection with User Content.
  1. Account: The User/Participant will be responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of his/her account, password, and restricting access to his/her computer, and he/she hereby accepts responsibility for all activities that occur under his/her account and password. The Participant acknowledges that the information he/she provides, in any manner whatsoever, is not confidential or proprietary and does not infringe any rights of any third party.If a User is accessing, browsing and using the Site on someone else’s behalf; he/she represents that he/she has the authority to bind that person to all the terms and conditions herein. In the event that the person refuses to be bound as the principal to the Terms and Conditions, he/she agrees to accept liability for any harm caused by any wrongful use of the Site resulting from such access or use of the Site.If a User knows or has reasons to believe that the security of his/her account has been breached, he/she should contact vivo immediately. If vivo finds a breach or suspects a breach of the security of a User’s/Participant’s account, vivo may require the User to change the password or suspend the account without any liability tovivo. vivo reserves the right to refuse service and/or terminate accounts without prior notice if these Terms and Conditions are violated or if vivo decides, in vivo’s sole discretion. A User/Participant is solely responsible for all content that he/she uploads, posts, emails or otherwise transmits via the Site.   1. vivo reserves the right, in its sole and absolute discretion, to amend or vary any of these Terms & Conditions at any time without prior notice or intimationandIt consider as deemed acceptance by the user.
  1. By enrolling in the vivo Ignite and/or participating in the vivo Ignite, the Participant hereby acknowledges and agrees to abide by the Terms and Conditions, Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, and other policies as may be amended from time to time on the site.
 
1. What are the eligibility criteria for vivo Ignite Technology & Innovation Initiative?

Students from standard 8th up to standard 12th are eligible to participate in this competition. This program is also open to students who home school, or study in NIOS or any other open school system. Your entry can be an individual or a team entry.

 
2. What is the last date for submitting the Idea for the competition?

3. Can a student submit multiple entries?

No, each student can participate only once. Either they can apply as a team or individually

 
4. How many members can be in a team?

Each team can have a maximum of two to three members.

 
5. Can International students participate in this competition?

No, this event is exclusively open to Indian Nationals and schools within India.

 
6. Are there any specific themes for the competition?

Yes, the competition focuses on a specific theme: "Tech for Good: Transforming Communities Through Technology and Innovation”. The theme is to inspire contestants to think creatively and use their technical skills to address sustainable solutions to real-world problems.

 
7. Apart from submitting the entry, are there any other tasks for participants?

No, once you have submitted the entry, you can sit back and relax and wait for vivo Ignite email on shortlisting

 
8. How will I get to know if my registration has been received?

You will receive a registration confirmation email from vivo Ignite.

 
9. Can students from different schools collaborate in a team?

No, students must be from the same school to collaborate in a team.

 
10. How will I know if I am shortlisted?

You will receive an email notification from vivo Ignite confirming your shortlisting and providing guidance on the next steps.

 
11. Will vivo own my idea.

No, you will retain sole ownership of your idea and prototype.

 
12. Who will evaluate the prototypes?

The submissions will be assessed by a panel of esteemed judges who are subject matter experts.

 
13. What are the prizes for winners?

14. Can I submit a project that I've worked on in the past, or does it have to be a completely new idea?

The innovation should be naive and unique and should not have been presented earlier at any event/ scale / received any kind of recognition.

 
15. Are there any additional incentives for participating, such as certificates or recognition for all participants?

Yes, all the participants who submit their Project Display Boards on the microsite will be awarded Participation Certificates. Other than this, all the 200 participants who make it to the Prototype Submission stage will be recognized accordingly. Scholarships worth up to ₹35+ lakh* (T&C applied) as pool prizes will be awarded to the Top 10 national winners, along with medals and certificates. Additionally, the consistent top performers of the 10 Quiz edition will receive goodies and certificates.
